Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas
This first one is wildly unique. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas feels like a far away place but it’s just a quick bus ride to the top theme parks in the country. There are two different DVC areas you can stay in at this property. Both Jambo House and Kidani Village have Savanna View rooms. There is an array of animals that live at this resort. If your kids love animals, this is a special opportunity to include sightings on your Disney World stay. It’s possible to spot a zebra, giraffe and many other species at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. There’s a playground near the Uzima Springs Pool and a flamingo habitat nearby. Your little ones can expand their horizons through the rich theming at this one of a kind Disney Vacation Club resort.

Disney’s Beach Club Villas
If the pool is a big draw for your family, consider staying at Disney’s Beach Club Villas. Stormalong Bay has a sand bottom pool, a small lazy river, a 230 foot water slide and more. This massive, outdoor water play area sparkles in the sun with winding pools and landscaped corners.
This property with a coastal feel is very close to not just one but two theme parks at Disney World: Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can take a boat to either, walk to Epcot, take a Skyliner gondola to Hollywood Studios. There are transportation options aplenty.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is also home to Cape May Cafe which has a character breakfast. Minnie and her friends are dressed in their beach attire and excited to see you. Not all DVC resorts have character dining so this is a plus for families.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
If your family plans to spend a lot of time at Magic Kingdom, the neighboring Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is a great pick. There are firework views from the property and boat and monorail access to the park. Guests can also hop on a monorail and transfer lines at the Transportation and Ticket Center to head to Epcot on the highway in the sky.
The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa also have a character dining experience at the resort. 1900 Park Fare offers a buffet with characters themed to wishes. Aladdin, Cinderella, Mirabel and Princess Tiana come around at both breakfast and dinner servings to visit with guests.
The Grand Floridian has a few pools. The one near the main DVC building has an Alice in Wonderland themed water play area for little ones.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
Also near Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has a lot to offer families. This classic hotel opened along with Magic Kingdom in 1971. However, it has had numerous upgrades and recent refurbishments include popular characters like Moana. The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows opened in 2024. Along with it came a new pool featuring a Moana water play area.
There are some excellent firework viewing spots from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This can be great for nights when the kids are tired and you want to leave the park but still need a little magic to end your day.

You’ll also find a character dining experience at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. ‘Ohana is a popular restaurant at Disney World. This venue is located on the second floor of the lobby and has excellent firework views at night. If you want to meet characters, go for breakfast. Lilo, Stitch, Mickey Mouse, and Pluto will happily greet you at your table and breakfast is served family style. Enjoy some of Disney’s famous POG juice which is short for passion fruit, orange, and guava juice.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
On the other side of Magic Kingdom, we have a theme here, you’ll find the historic Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Disney Vacation Club component is a large building next to it called Bay Lake Tower. This property is a short walk to Magic Kingdom and it also has monorail access. Being this close is great for families catering to midday naps.
