Best Holiday Activities at the Disney World DVC Resorts

November 20, 2025
By

It may be the fall, but Christmas will be here before you know it!  From merry sleigh rides to gingerbread displays and fireworks, here are the best holiday activities at the Disney World DVC resorts.

Christmas Trees and Gingerbread Displays

Just like the Disney World theme parks, the resorts get a special touch of holiday magic!  Some resorts have incredible themed Christmas trees like the massive one you’ll find in the center of the Wilderness Lodge lobby or Jambo House lobby.  Others have gingerbread displays like the gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club, gingerbread giraffe at Jambo House, or the gingerbread boardwalk at the BoardWalk.  (Note: While the Grand Floridian is known for its large Christmas tree and gingerbread house, it will not have one in 2025 with the current lobby construction.)

When you’re looking for some downtime between park days, visiting the resorts, seeing the decor, and even grabbing a sweet holiday treat is a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks

You don’t have to be inside the Magic Kingdom to see Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks!  While the nighttime spectacular is exclusive to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the fireworks are visible from multiple DVC resorts, including Bay Lake Tower, Grand Floridian, and Polynesian. You can even see the fireworks from the shores of Bay Lake by Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

Holiday Sleigh Rides

Unique to Fort Wilderness are scenic sleigh rides!  From December 1 to December 30 (excluding December 24), these 25-minute sleigh rides start by Tri-Circle-D Ranch near the Settlement Bus Depot and take guests around the campground.  The sleighs can fit up to 4 adults or 2 adults plus 3 small children.  You can reserve a sleigh ride up to 60 days prior to your visit.  Rides are $80 per person, excluding tax.

Festive Dining

If you are looking for a restaurant with a beautiful holiday decor, head over to the BoardWalk for The Cake Bake Shop.  While always ornately decorated, The Cake Bake Shop pulls out all the stops for Christmas with plenty of snow-covered Christmas trees and twinkling lights!  For an extra special experience, The Cake Bake Shop offers Dinner with Santa Claus that includes champagne and cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, dessert, a family gift, family photo, and of course, a visit with Santa Claus!

This special event takes place on:

  • November 18
  • November 25
  • December 2
  • December 9
