Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Disney California Adventure and the Grand Californian
Disney California Adventure and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa turn 25 this year, and there are lots of special offerings to celebrate their anniversaries! Let’s take a look at all the 25th anniversary offerings.
Soarin’ Over California
When Disney California Adventure first opened on February 8, 2001, Soarin’ Over California was one of the theme park’s opening day attractions. It featured locations such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Yosemite National Park, Palm Springs, and Los Angeles. From February 6 to July 1, 2026, guests can take a trip down memory lane and once again enjoy the original Soarin’ Over California and its iconic musical score.
New Outfits for Mickey and Minnie
In celebration of Disney California Adventure’s 25th anniversary, Mickey and Minnie will be sporting brand new outfits for their meet and greet on Buena Vista Street. These colorful outfits with sun motifs pay tribute to the theme park’s original California theme.
Humphrey the Bear Joins Storytellers Cafe
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa opened on January 2, 2001 but celebrated its grand opening on February 8, 2001 and then expanded with The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in 2009. Starting February 6, Humphrey the Bear will make his Disney Parks debut by appearing at Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian during Donald’s Tales of Adventure dinner buffet. Humphrey is the grizzly bear who appears in several Disney animated shorts, and he is the inspiration for Humphrey’s Service & Supplies at Disney California Adventure.
Limited Time Food and Merchandise
To mark the occasion, guests will find specialty food and commemorative merchandise at Disney California Adventure, the Grand Californian, and Downtown Disney, which also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
Food
- Cake Shake – From February 6 to 15, Schmoozies will have a confetti shake with strawberry icing, sprinkles, whipped topping, and a slice of cake.
- Pixar Pal-A-Round Bucket – A special popcorn bucket shaped like the Pixar Pal-Around features lighting effects that react to different locations in both Disney California Adventure and Disneyland as well as nighttime spectaculars. You can find the bucket at:

- Bananas Foster Beignet – Through August 9, Beignets Expressed will offer a bananas foster beignet dipped in banana rum glaze, sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar and served with a vanilla crème anglaise.
- French “70” – You can find this blend of gin, prosecco, lemon juice, and lavender syrup at Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio through August 9.
- Macaron Croissants – Kayla’s Cake will serve a strawberry yogurt macaron croissant and a pistachio macaron croissant through May 31.
- Parkside Birders Club – The second Saturday of every month, guests 21 and over can enjoy light bites and cocktails and learn how to make 3 cocktails. The package includes a $20 bounce back for Parkside Market and a pin.
- Incredi-Bitz – Through August 9, Wetzel’s Pretzels is serving the Original Bitz with 3 different toppings: Choco Churro Bitz, Bacon Ranch Bitz, or S’mores Bitz.
Merchandise
- Disney California Adventure 25th Anniversary Collection – This line of apparel (including shirts, hoodies, hats, and pins) features park icons like the Carthay Circle tower, Pixar Pal-A-Round, and Grizzly Peak. It will be available at Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs.
- Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa pin – This limited edition pin with Chip ‘n’ Dale celebrates the hotel’s 25th anniversary.
- Downtown Disney District Merchandise – For a limited time, guests can find a special tote bag and pin with Downtown Disney’s new logo.
