Chef Mickey’s Breakfast 2025: Food, Characters & Tips

August 11, 2025
By

If you’re planning a Walt Disney World vacation in 2025 and want a meal that combines delicious food with unforgettable Disney character experiences, Chef Mickey’s breakfast at Disney’s Contemporary Resort should be at the top of your list. This iconic character dining spot delivers a festive atmosphere, a generous breakfast buffet, and up-close moments with some of Disney’s most beloved characters.

After more than a decade since my last visit, I returned for breakfast, and I’m glad to say that the magic is still alive and well. Are you ready for everything that you need to know to make the most of your Chef Mickey’s dining reservation? Settle in, friends.

What Food Is Served at Chef Mickey’s Breakfast?

The Chef Mickey’s breakfast buffet offers a mix of classic breakfast favorites and unique specialty items. You’ll find scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, breakfast potatoes, and those famous Mickey-shaped waffles served with strawberry or blueberry sauce. Other standouts include steak, egg, and cheese scramble, Bananas Foster French toast (please be sure to get this), and andouille sausage with peppers for a flavorful kick.

As I’ve learned from the last SEVERAL Disney breakfasts I’ve enjoyed, when you see “seasonal pancakes” on the menu or buffet, you get them. On my visit, they were a s’mores-inspired dream with graham cracker and chocolate chips topped with toasted marshmallow whipped cream. Sweet options also include warm sticky cinnamon rolls, pastries, muffins, croissants, and a flaky, sugary beignet-like pastry. For lighter choices, you will find smoked salmon, deviled eggs, yogurt parfaits, and fresh fruit.

Beverages like coffee, tea, juice, and the famous POG juice are included. Specialty cocktails and smoothies are available for an extra charge.

Which Disney Characters Appear at Chef Mickey’s Breakfast?

During Chef Mickey’s breakfast, you can meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto, all dressed in chef-adjacent attire. They make their way around the dining room to visit every table, pose for photos, and sign autographs.

The character rotation is well paced so you can enjoy your meal without missing anyone. There is also a celebratory moment with music and dancing for special occasions. On my visit, a character attendant made a second pass to ensure no table missed a character. It was a thoughtful touch that helped the morning feel complete.

How Much Does Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Cost in 2025?

At the time of my visit, the Chef Mickey’s breakfast price was $58 per adult and $37 per child ages 3 to 9. Prices can change, so it is best to confirm current pricing on the official site before you book.

How Do You Get to Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort?

Chef Mickey’s is on the fourth floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It is an easy ride on the monorail from Magic Kingdom or a short walk from the park’s front entrance. If you are visiting from another Walt Disney World resort, take a bus to Magic Kingdom, then use the monorail or walkway. If you’re arriving in your own vehicle, the guard at the gate will confirm your reservation before allowing you to self park.

Is Chef Mickey’s Breakfast Worth It in 2025?

In my mind, breakfast at Chef Mickey’s is worth it if you want to enjoy a hearty buffet and meet multiple Disney characters without long park lines. The per person price is steep, but the food is plentiful and varied, the character interactions are excellent, and the location offers that extra dose of classic Disney magic with the monorail gliding overhead. It’ll definitely fill you up (food-wise and pixie dust-wise) for the park day ahead.

For families, first-time visitors, or anyone who wants to start the day with memorable character moments, this Walt Disney World dining experience is a must-try.
