Disney World September 2025 Schedule: Events, Closures & More
September is one of the best months of the year to visit Disney World. The crowds are low as students start a new school year and the heat of the summer starts to fade. You may even encounter a cool breeze if you’re trip is pixie dusted. Here’s what you have to look forward to this month at Disney World.
Must See Events at Disney World in September 2025
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
The annual Halloween event returns to Magic Kingdom this year with some added and altered entertainment. Dress up and trick or treat around the park, enjoy the famous Mickey’s Boo to You Parade and special Halloween fireworks hosted by Jack Skellington.
New in 2025, you can meet Mickey and Minnie together at Town Square Theater.
Storybook Circus transforms, aimed for families with younger children.

Visit the ZOM-BEATZ BASH, a dance party in Tomorrowland on the Rockettower Plaza Stage, inspired by ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires.
Get Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets early as the event does sell out!

September Taking Over Cosmic Rewind?

“Do you remember… the 21st night of September?”
On September 21, we might expect Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT to play the song “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire for all rides, all day. This is one of six songs that typically play at random on the attraction. While there hasn’t been an announcement for September 2025, Disney posted about this all day affair on September 12, 2024 just a few weeks before the date last year.
Park Closures and Ride Refurbishments in September at WDW
Quite a few things have permanently closed at Walt Disney World Resort this year including the Muppets area at Hollywood Studios and the Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom. The most recent is The Boneyard play area at Animal Kingdom which had its final day of operation on September 1 to make way for Tropical Americas.
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World in September, remember these are also closed temporarily for refurbishment:
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom
- Spaceship Earth at Epcot
Special Offers and Discounts for September Travelers
The Orlando restaurant program Magical Dining is currently celebrating 20 years. This is a six week offering from August 15 through September 30 where restaurants have three courses at a discounted $40 or $60 price point. Over 160 restaurants are participating with some locations at Disney World including STK, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Maria & Enzo’s and JALEO by Jose Andres at Disney Springs among others.
Weather at Disney World: Hurricanes and What You Need to Know

Temperatures finally start to cool in September after the brutal summer months. However, we are fast approaching the height of hurricane season in Florida. While Disney World is always prepared to cause minimal disruption due to hurricanes, September has had some major storms in the past. Now might be a good time to look over hurricane cancellation policies so you’re aware.
