Gideon’s Bakehouse Welcomes Pumpkin Season
Tucked in among the hustle and bustle of back-to-school happenings here in Central Florida is a day I look forward to with great relish: the first of the month.
It rolls around only 12 times each year, and with it comes a delicious tradition: Gideon’s Bakehouse at Disney Springs celebrates the dawn of each month by releasing a brand-new, limited-edition cookie.
And this month? Oh friends, pumpkin lovers can rejoice.
Two Pumpkin Treats Return
Two pumpkin-filled delights have returned to the bakehouse, and I highly recommend adding a stop here to your September Walt Disney World visit.
The Pumpkin Bread Chocolate Crumb Cookie has returned to grace the cookie case. And alongside it, the Pumpkin Chai Cold Brew makes its triumphant reappearance.
Who knew pumpkin could be so delicious?
Cookie Magic in Every Bite
I love pumpkin bread. What I don’t love? Pumpkin pie. The thought of purée upon purée shoved into a pie shell has never sounded appealing to me. So I usually approach pumpkin-based treats with a bit of trepidation. But friends, there’s no need for fear this month at Gideon’s.
The Pumpkin Bread Chocolate Crumb Cookie is the perfect marriage of autumnal flavors and just a hint of chocolate. One of the team members told me the cookie is based on their morning Coffee Cake Cookie, and you can absolutely tell from the first bite.
That wonderfully thick, sugary crumble on top is the perfect companion to the pumpkin filling inside. And yes, you read that right, it’s a filled cookie. Break it open and you’ll find real pumpkin, spices, and sugar, all gloriously glistening in the Florida sunshine. It’s a sight to behold.
A Chai That Packs a Punch
Now let’s talk about the Pumpkin Chai Cold Brew. This drink is bold and unapologetic in its spiciness. If you’re a chai tea fan, you’ll welcome this with both hands.
My favorite drink at Joffrey’s is their Espresso Chai Latte, which leans more espresso than chai. Gideon’s version flips the script. It leads with strong chai flavors, and the aftertaste delivers a satisfying kick.
The fact that it’s served as a cold brew makes it Florida-perfect. After all, strolling around Disney Springs with a hot coffee in September isn’t always ideal. This drink is autumn in a cup, Florida-style.
Don’t Forget the Cake Slices
While you’re wandering Disney Springs, here’s a pro tip: on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Gideon’s often releases secret cake slices.
Their buttercream icing is thick, luscious, and unlike anything else I’ve tasted. Follow their social media so you don’t miss out as these slices can disappear fast.
The Perfect Fall Kickoff
If you’re gearing up for fall or easing into a not-so-spooky Halloween, Gideon’s Bakehouse is the place to pregame. The slightly eerie, gothic vibe sets the perfect tone, and the pumpkin-filled treats will satisfy any sweet tooth you’ve brought along on vacation.
September at Walt Disney World just tastes better when you’ve got Gideon’s on your list.
