Planning a Disney trip comes with lots of choices. When you’re booking a room, renting DVC points is another option in addition to booking through Disney or being a member yourself. First, let’s take a look at what determines the cost of renting points. The price of renting DVC points varies by details like:

  • the room type
  • the view from the room
  • the time of year of your stay
  • the days of the week you stay
  • the Disney Vacation Club resort
  • how far in advance you book your trip
  • additional factors like availability and popularity

Rent DVC Points: The Cost for Guests

DVC Rental Store keeps a healthy amount of data to reference. That, in combination with other information like point charts and supply and demand, helps inform how to adjust pricing in a way that provides value for both guests and members.

How Much Does it Cost to Rent DVC Points as a Guest?

The price of a Disney vacation has gone up quite a bit over the years. Many visitors are looking for ways to save money on their trip. It’s possible to rent DVC points and save money on your hotel accommodations. When you do the math, being a DVC member can save you quite a bit over the length of the contract. Some of those savings are passed along in the cost of renting DVC points.

In the table below, we’re exploring how low it may be possible to rent points for based on:

  • Visiting for one week, September 7th to 14th, during the slowest travel period on the DVC point chart for 2026
  • Staying in the most basic accommodations like a studio-style room with a standard view (except for The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, which only have one room type)

Note: Prices for peak times, such as the month of April and the last week of December, will vary greatly in price from the information provided here.

How can you save money renting DVC points?

It may be possible to save even more when renting DVC points.

DVC rooms that sleep two cost even less but are rare.

There are a few resorts that have smaller rooms for just two guests. If you’re a party of two, or traveling solo, these can cost even less. The catch is there are far less of them than regular studios that sleep four or five people. They are also only available at these resorts:

At some properties you can save by using points to book a regular hotel room.

It may also be possible to pay less by renting DVC points to book a standard hotel room instead of a DVC villa. This isn’t available everywhere but you can do this at Aulani with a Hotel Room and Disney’s Vero Beach Resort with a Deluxe Inn Room with a Standard View.

How much can you make renting DVC points out?

Not able to use your points? No problem. When someone wants to rent DVC points, it’s possible to get paid for your unused points as a DVC Member. Payouts vary based on resort, time period, and more.
