Photo Tour: Newly Refurbished Rooms at Kidani Village
The first of the newly refurbished rooms at Kidani Village are now available to guests! This renovation is part of Kidani Village’s full refurbishment, which includes major changes to the furniture, floors, fixtures, appliances, bathrooms, and more. DVC rooms typically undergo a full refurbishment about every 14 years.
The renovations do a wonderful job of preserving the African-inspired theming that makes Animal Kingdom Lodge so unique and immersive while adding a more modern touch to the home away from home accommodations.
Let’s take a tour of the renovated Deluxe Studio, One Bedroom Villa, and Two Bedroom Villa at Kidani Village!
Deluxe Studio
Bathroom
The bathroom was completely renovated with a new vanity and countertops, glass shower doors instead of the old shower curtains, and bright orange tiling in the shower. The new shower also has a dual shower head system with a handheld shower head and a rainfall one, and wall-mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Kitchenette
A bright new patterned backsplash adds a pop of color to the kitchenette. For appliances, you’ll find a mini fridge, microwave, and toaster as well as a new Keurig Mini.
Living Room/Bedroom
Much like the other recent DVC resort refurbishments, Kidani now has vinyl flooring in place of carpeting and a Murphy bed in place of the old sofa bed. The Murphy bed has a red couch and beautiful artwork featuring Simba and Nala on the savanna. All of it ties in nicely with the new accent rug, light fixtures, and tapestry that hangs above the headboard of the queen size bed.
Some room features that haven’t changed are the queen size bed frame, dresser, and armoire. The chairs and table by the sliding doors appear to be the same as before but with some new upholstery for the chairs and a new accent mirror featuring the silhouettes of Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon.
In terms of tech upgrades, there are both USB and USB-C ports throughout the room plus a smart TV.
One Bedroom Villa
Bathroom
The shower has the same orange tile, glass doors, and dual shower head as the Deluxe Studio. The new vanity, countertops, and mirror give a fresh look to the sink area.
Living Room
The Murphy bed is a real focal point of the living room with a red couch, map of Animal Kingdom Lodge, and built-in shelves with lighting. There are also several charging ports built into the shelving. Upon opening the Murphy bed, you’ll see artwork with Rafiki, Simba, Sarabi, Zazu, and more animals from the savanna.
Underneath the new smart TV is now a single pull-down bed. The artwork inside features Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa.
Dining Room
The dining room table and even the woven plates above it remain the same, but accents such as a new chandelier and a framed display for the plates give the room a refreshed look.
Kitchen
Within the kitchen there are lots of new appliances, including the refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and Keurig Duo 2.0. In addition to the new cabinets, sink, and fixtures, there’s new paint and the same patterned backsplash tiles as the Deluxe Studio.
Bedroom
As with the Deluxe Studio, the master bedroom of the One Bedroom Villa retains the same bed frame and dresser as the original Kidani rooms. The desk and chair also remain the same. However, these pieces are elevated by a new ceiling fan, carpeting, charging ports, desk lamp, and artwork inspired by The Lion King.
Two Bedroom Villa
For the most part, the updates to the furniture, appliances, and decor in the Two Bedroom Villa are nearly identical to those found in the One Bedroom Villa and Deluxe Studio. Similar to the Deluxe Studio, the second bedroom of the Dedicated Two Bedroom Villa has new tapestries behind the headboards, carpeting, and a ceiling fan.
Note: If you have an upcoming reservation at Kidani Village, construction is still in progress, and you are not guaranteed to get a refurbished room until all of the rooms have been refreshed. Construction is expected to continue through May 2026.
