Should Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno be on Your Disney list?
If you’re looking for a cozy way to start your Disney day, breakfast at Trattoria al Forno on Disney’s BoardWalk might be exactly what you need. This warm Italian restaurant transforms into a truly lovely breakfast spot each morning, and it’s become an old faithful for our family over the years.
But here’s the thing: not everything on the menu is a winner. On our most recent visit, we ordered three dishes and walked away calling it a tale of two breakfasts. Here’s exactly what to order and what to skip so you’re not wasting your Disney dining dollars.
Warm, Elevated, and Never Stuffy
Trattoria al Forno is the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re gathering with friends and family rather than dining at a theme park-adjacent restaurant. The deeply-colored walls, bronzed tin ceiling, and enchanting light fixtures make you feel cocooned from the moment you walk in.

One of the best features is the open kitchen. You can see the pizzas being prepared, the dishes coming together, the open flames, and the ovens. It’s genuinely enchanting to watch. If you’re looking for an atmosphere that’s a cut above your typical Disney breakfast spot, Trattoria delivers.
The Press Pot Coffee Is a Must
If you’re a coffee lover, the Trattoria al Forno press pot featuring Joffrey’s Coffee’s exclusive blend should be your first order. It’s chocolatey with notes of berry, and it’s a wonderful accompaniment to anything you’re going to have from breakfast to dinner.

The press pot serves two and is priced at $10.25. Coffee prices have been climbing across Walt Disney World property this year, but this particular blend is well worth it.
Is the Avocado Toast a Good Value?
The Avocado Toast at Trattoria al Forno is $13 and is simply delicious. It features mashed avocado on two slices of their incredible country bread, topped with radish, tomato, peppery arugula, and a sweet balsamic glaze. There’s a wonderful saltiness behind it all that ties the dish together.

If there’s one thing Trattoria al Forno consistently does right, it’s their bread. The country bread alone is worth the visit. At $13, this felt like a genuinely good value for a Disney table service breakfast, and it’s a great option if you’re looking to split something at the table.
The Al Forno Eggs Are the Star of the Menu
The Al Forno Eggs dish features brick oven cage-free eggs served on a bed of creamy polenta with fennel sausage, spiced tomato sauce, and generous slices of country bread. The dish comes in a copper skillet, and it’s beautiful. It’s also one of my favorite breakfast dishes across all of Walt Disney World property, and I don’t say that lightly.

Every single time I’ve ordered this dish, it absolutely sings. The eggs are perfectly prepared, the spiced tomato sauce is flavorful (spiced, not spicy, meaning rich in flavor, not heat), and the fennel sausage is divine. If you’ve never had fennel sausage before, it’s mild and lovely. Even my husband, who doesn’t typically like sausage, loved it.
There are three eggs in total, and the portion is generous enough that I took some home with me. You can dig into the entire dish using just the country bread. At $18, this is the dish to get at Trattoria al Forno during breakfast. It’ll fill you up for your park day.
Skip the Buttermilk Pancakes
I’d skip them. The buttermilk pancakes with seasonal compote come with bacon and sausage for $15. They were fluffy, which was nice, but that’s about where the compliments end. They were dry, the apple compote was akin to apple pie filling, and the bacon was limp. Also, the amount of food is just so small.

When you compare this dish to the seasonal pancakes being offered at Kona Cafe and Grand Floridian Cafe, where you’re getting massive, themed, over-the-top pancakes, there’s really no reason to order them here. For just $3 more, the Al Forno Eggs give you significantly more food with significantly more flavor.
What Else Is on the Breakfast Menu?
Trattoria al Forno’s breakfast menu features nine different entrees plus kids’ options. Beyond what we ordered, there’s the Oak-grilled Steak and Eggs (which my husband has loved in the past), the Sunrise Breakfast Pizza (my father-in-law’s pick), a two-eggs-your-way dish, a Florentine frittata, a caprese omelet, and more.
A note: the morning meal at Trattoria is no longer a character breakfast. It used to be the Rapunzel and Friends Bon Voyage character breakfast, but that went away during the pandemic closures and hasn’t returned. What you’re getting now is a straightforward table service breakfast with a solid Italian-inspired menu.
Before You Go
Trattoria al Forno is located on Disney’s BoardWalk, making it an easy walk from EPCOT’s International Gateway or a short boat ride from Hollywood Studios. Breakfast service runs from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and they stop seating at that time. An advance dining reservation is recommended.

This is a great option if you’re staying at the BoardWalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, or Swan and Dolphin resorts. It’s also worth the trip if you’re heading to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios and want to start your day with something more elevated than a quick-service breakfast.
Is Trattoria al Forno Breakfast Worth Your Disney Dining Dollars?
Yes, if you order the right dishes. The Al Forno Eggs is one of the best breakfast dishes on Walt Disney World property, and the Avocado Toast is a delicious and well-priced starter to share. The press pot coffee is a treat. Skip the pancakes, and you’ll walk away from this meal feeling like every dollar was well spent.
Trattoria al Forno remains one of our family’s go-to breakfast spots at Disney World. The atmosphere, that gorgeous tin ceiling, the open kitchen, and the warmth of it all make it worth the visit. Pair that with the right order, and you’ve got yourself a perfect start to a park day.
