The TOP Disney Brunch: Grand Floridian Cafe

July 31, 2025
By

There’s something so perfectly Disney about starting your day with brunch, especially when it’s tucked inside one of Walt Disney World’s most iconic resorts. If you’re looking for an elegant-but-not-stuffy way to ease into your day, let me highlight a brunch spot that just might earn a permanent place on your itinerary: Grand Floridian Cafe.

The Setting: Victorian Vibes

You’ll find the Grand Floridian Cafe nestled just off the main lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The lobby is currently the home to quite a bit of construction with a new bar being constructed right in the middle of the space, but once we stepped inside the restaurant, all was calm. Think old-world charm mixed with a bit of Grandma’s house, and just the right amount of Disney touches.

We were seated at a beautiful eight-top table right in the center of the dining room, which was perfect for our family gathering. The atmosphere strikes a delicate balance: refined enough for a special meal, but relaxed enough that kids (and tired adults) will feel right at home.

The Starters: Biscuits for All

I’m happy to say that complimentary carbs started the meal. Who doesn’t love those?! Warm, fluffy biscuits arrived to the table, complete with whipped butter and a house-made citrus butter speckled with orange zest. Friends, these biscuits are the kind of thing you write home about.

A sweet touch: our server brought out a separate, gluten-free and vegan roll (sealed for safety) along with plant-based butter for my youngest, Andy, who follows a vegan diet. It’s this kind of thoughtful accommodation that makes the Grand Floridian Cafe shine.

Let’s Talk Brunch

We ordered a wide variety of dishes across the brunch menu. Here’s a look at what our family tried and what we thought:

Passion Fruit-Guava-Orange (P.O.G.) French Toast: This was my pick, and friends, it did not disappoint. Imagine thick slices of French toast with guava and passion fruit jelly tucked inside, topped with almonds, strawberries, and dollops of orange cream cheese. It’s Disney’s version of dessert-for-breakfast done right. If you like Tonga Toast, this is your next must-try.

Traditional Eggs Benedict: A classic, well-executed version, chosen by my son Cam. While tempted by the Grand Floridian Benedict with pulled pork and poblano hollandaise, he kept it simple and was glad he did.

Breakfast Sandwich: My daughter-in-law, Brynn, went for this hearty option, which included house-made sausage, an over-easy egg, roasted red peppers, whipped goat cheese, and more on a house-made ciabatta. It was packed with flavor and came with perfectly crispy steak fries.

Cobb Salad: My mom-in-law Gwen’s salad featured plentiful blue cheese, avocado, and house-roasted turkey, and reminded us of the beloved Cobb Salad over at Hollywood Brown Derby. It was a lighter choice that didn’t skimp on flavor.

Signature Burger: My father-in-law Tom’s pick was juicy and satisfying, and loaded with arugula (so be warned if you’re not an arugula fan). It no longer includes lobster, but it’s still a standout among Disney burgers. Memo to me: write that top Disney burgers overview article.

Tofu Power Bowl: A plant-based, protein-packed dish of grains, veggies, and vinaigrette. Andy loved it, and it’s the only fully vegan entrée on the menu, which is good to know if you’re looking for those options.

Club Sandwich: Tommy’s club featured house-roasted turkey and came with not one but two slices of bread in the middle, making it practically four mini sandwiches in one. He approved, and suggested that opting for just one piece of bread in the middle in the future would be quite enough.

Seasonal Pancakes: Brian chose the Banana Pudding Pancakes, which were topped with banana slices, Nilla wafers, and, you guessed it, banana pudding. If you’re a fan of classic Southern desserts, this is a dream on a plate. Always order the seasonal pancakes. From the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes earlier this year at Kona Cafe to this rendition, the seasonal pancakes are always a standout. Always.

A Cast Member Who Made It Magical

I’d love to give a special shoutout to Sarah, our server, who wore her Legacy Award name tag with pride, and rightly so. She was kind, thoughtful, and made every moment feel like a celebration. Tabitha also helped, and we felt genuinely cared for throughout our meal.

Is Grand Flo Cafe Worth the Reservation?

Absolutely. From the food to the service to the surroundings, brunch at Grand Floridian Cafe hits that sweet spot of Disney dining: memorable, delicious, and just fancy enough to feel special

The question comes to you: which Walt Disney World brunch spot takes top billing for you?
