Tips for Disney World Dining with Toddlers
Toddlers can be unpredictable travel buddies, and even more so if they get hangry. Here are some dining tips to keep your toddler fed and happy during your Disney World vacation.
Quick Service Is Your Friend
As the name implies, quick service dining is essentially fast food; it’s a fast and easy way to dine with little ones. You’ll find them at all of the Disney World theme parks, resorts, water parks, and Disney Springs. It helps to mobile order in advance, so you do not have to wait long for your food.
If you rely heavily on quick service dining, that should be a consideration when choosing your resort. Among the DVC resorts, some like Old Key West and the BoardWalk don’t have a wide selection of offerings at their quick service locations.
Take Advantage of Table Service To Go
If you have a little one who is too antsy to sit down for a table service meal, you may want to try the to-go option at select restaurants. These include Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club, Kona Cafe and Wailulu Bar & Grill at the Polynesian, Olivia’s Cafe at Old Key West, Sanaa at Kidani Village, Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary, and Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Coronado Springs. When staying at these resorts, it’s nice to just pick up your meal and bring it back to your room to enjoy.
Character Dining Is Especially Great for Young Toddlers
Since there is no charge for children under the age of three for character dining, it can be a great way to have your child meet multiple characters at once. Even better, you don’t have to wait in line to see them–they come to your table!
If you prefer all-you-care-to-eat meals but don’t love trying to juggle a plate of food at the buffet for food with a little one in tow, you may prefer places like Garden Grill or breakfast at ‘Ohana where the food is brought to you.
Have Groceries Delivered to Your Resort
With DVC Studios and Villas, you have the added convenience of a kitchenette or full kitchen. Whether your child is a picky eater, you want quick breakfast options for the room, or you want to keep a stash of your child’s favorite snacks on hand, having groceries delivered to your resort can be really helpful.
Some guests like to use services like Instacart, Kroger, or Walmart+ and have them delivered to bell services. You can then either visit bell services to pick up your groceries, or have bell services deliver them to your room for a $6 handling fee.
