Tips for Enjoying Your Complimentary Disney Water Park Day

October 17, 2025
By

Through the end of 2025 and again in summer 2026, Disney Resort guests get complimentary admission to the water parks on check-in day.  This perk is even available to guests who are renting DVC points!  Here are some tips to help you plan out your water park day.

What to Bring

For either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, you’ll want to bring a bag with:

  • Swimsuit
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Flip flops or water shoes
  • A change of clothes

One thing you will not need to bring is a towel.  The water parks provide complimentary towel rentals for Disney Resort guests.  You can pick them up from Singapore Sal’s and High ‘N Dry Rentals at Typhoon Lagoon or Beach Haus at Blizzard Beach.  You just need to show your MagicBand or Key to the World Card to pick up the complimentary towels.

There are also complimentary life jackets, so you won’t need to bring your own.

Where to Leave Your Stuff

Since the water park benefit is available on your check-in day, there is a chance that your room may not be ready before you head to the water park.  In that case, you can leave your luggage with bell services.

While at the water park, you can rent a locker to store a small bag.  Standard lockers are 12.5” by 10” by 17” and cost $10 per day.  Large ones are 15.5” by 13” by 17” and cost $15 per day.

If you are sticking to just the essentials, you may want to consider a waterproof phone case.

How to Get to the Water Parks

You can take complimentary bus transportation from your resort to the water parks.  They start running about 30 minutes prior to the water parks opening and stop running about 60 minutes after the water parks close.  Note that you often have to transfer to another bus to get to the water parks.  For example, you may need to take a bus to Disney Springs and switch to another bus to go to Typhoon Lagoon.

Alternatively, you can always drive your own car and park at the water parks or take a Minnie Van or rideshare.

Other Tips

Water Park Entry

  • Admission to the water parks will be added automatically to your My Disney Experience account based on your check-in day.  Make sure your whole travel party is linked to the resort reservation to ensure that everyone gets the water park perk!
  • While Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are typically both open during peak times like summer, they are not always open at the same time.  Be sure to check the Disney World website to see which water park is available during your trip.
  • If Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are both open on your check-in day, you can choose either one or even visit both on the same day!
  • To enter the water park, you can use your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass on your phone, or Key to the World Card.
  • Split stays (staying at more than one resort during a single vacation) count as separate reservations.  This means that you get free admission to the water parks for each part of your split stay.

Amenities

  • The water parks have changing rooms with showers, so you can change there.
  • Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have quick service dining locations available as well as bars. Leaning Palms at Typhoon Lagoon serves rice bowls, flatbreads, and salads.  At Blizzard Beach, Avalunch has specialty hot dogs and snacks while Lottawatta Lodge offers burgers, sandwiches, rice bowls, and flatbreads.
  • If you plan to spend all day at the water parks, Typhoon Lagoon offers cabana and umbrella rentals, and Blizzard Beach offers shaded patio and umbrella rentals. Reservations can be made via the Walt Disney World website up to 60 days in advance.
