When Will the Garden View Tea Room Reopen?
Fans of the elegant Grand Floridian may have fond memories of afternoon tea at the Garden View Tea Room, which has been closed since the pandemic. After initial news that the tea room would be reopening as the Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience in early 2026, we now have more concrete details, including an opening date. Here’s all the latest news on the tea room!
When Is It Reopening?
Disney Parks Blog recently announced that the tea room would reopen as The Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience on March 19, 2026. Reservations will open on February 19. They can be made online or through the My Disney Experience app. With the lounge being a small space, reservations are highly recommended.
What Kind of Experience Can Guests Expect?
Guests can look forward to afternoon tea with a spot of whimsy that both adults and children can enjoy. The experience will offer a selection of teas and bites to savor that are inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Alice in Wonderland.
What’s on the Menu?
Teas
Trained Cast Members will help guide guests in selecting from a variety of Twinings Loose Leaf Tea Selections, such as:
- London Strand Breakfast
- Spicy Chai
- Orangery of Lady Grey
- Nutty Chocolate Flavoured Assam
- Blackcurrant and Lavender
Guests will also be able to create a customized tea and choose an aromatic to accompany the tea during the steeping process.
Drinks and Tea-based Cocktails
In addition to tea, the menu will feature champagne, sparkling wines, and two signature tea-based cocktails, the Mint Tulip and the Mar-TEA-ni. The Mint Tulip is made with Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Kentucky Straight Whiskey, Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Instant Beverage, and Mint. The Mar-TEA-ni features Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin, Twinings Earl Grey Tea, lemon, and honey.
For guests who prefer non-alcoholic cocktails, there is the Curiosi-TEA (Twinings Refreshers Strawberry Raspberry Herbal Tea Instant Beverage with “shimmering magic”) and the This Way, That Way (Twinings Refreshers Peach Mango Tea Herbal Tea Instant Beverage and mint).
Light Bites
Guests will start with orange-cranberry scones served with traditional accoutrements and then enjoy a tower of savory and sweet foods.
Among the savory selections are:
- Curried Chicken Salad Playing Card Tart: Savory curried chicken salad filling topped with cherry gelée
- Footman’s Feast: Wonderland Salmon Crisp with a salmon rillette on a miso brown butter crisp
- Tweedledee Egg Salad Sandwich: A traditional egg salad on beet bread
- Caterpillar Cucumber Roll: A delicious combination with butterfly pea-infused cream cheese and cucumbers on pumpernickel
Sweet selections include:
- The Matcha Mad Hatter: Sponge cake with apricot jam and yuzu buttercream
- Tea Party Tart: Vanilla tart, coffee custard, and chantilly cream
- Flamingo Croquet Choux filled with passion fruit cream and a raspberry crunch
- Painting the Rose: Earl Grey-flavored teacake painted tableside
You can also add enhancements like the seasonal cheese selection or Royal Osetra Caviar with mini chive biscuits and traditional accompaniments. A special afternoon tea selection is available for plant-based options.
