Which DVC Resorts Are Hardest to Book?

January 29, 2026

Renting DVC points is a great way to stay at the Deluxe Disney accommodations for less!  If you’re looking to rent DVC points, it’s helpful to set expectations and understand that renting depends heavily on room availability.  Availability can vary based on the room inventory and guest demand.

While there are some specific DVC rooms or booking categories that are most difficult to book (i.e., Resort View rooms at Bay Lake Tower and BoardWalk, Value or Concierge rooms at Jambo House, Deluxe Studios at Copper Creek, etc.), here’s a look at which DVC resorts are the most difficult to book overall.

Beach Club

Along with the Polynesian, the Beach Club is easily one of the most popular DVC Resorts at Disney World.  The resort has a beautiful location along Crescent Lake that is just a short walk away from International Gateway, the back entrance of EPCOT, which makes it an ideal place to stay for any festival.  It also doesn’t hurt that the Beach Club has Stormalong Bay, which is considered the best resort pool on Disney World property!  The sand-bottomed pool has a lazy river, a 230-foot-long waterslide, whirlpool spas, and cabanas.

Grand Californian

With only 71 villas and as one of only two DVC resorts at Disneyland, the Grand Californian both has limited room inventory and is often in high demand.  The upscale resort has a great location within Disneyland Resort and even has a special entrance to Disney California Adventure Park just for its overnight guests. For just about every travel period, villas at the Grand Californian typically book up by the 7-month mark.  This means you will likely need to find a DVC Member who owns points at the Grand Californian and can take advantage of the home resort booking window to reserve a stay for you.

Vero Beach and Hilton Head

Vero Beach and Hilton Head are listed together here since they’re difficult to book for similar reasons.  While they are not the first resorts that Guests may think of when it comes to renting DVC points, they have a loyal fan base.  Unlike most other DVC resorts, their peak season is summer, and they can be challenging to book during the warmer months.  Hilton Head is also a smaller resort, so it has limited room inventory.

What Is the Best Way to Book These Resorts?

While these DVC resorts are difficult book, they’re not impossible!  To improve your odds of getting the reservation you want, try these strategies:

  • Place your request at the 11-month mark: The earliest that a DVC Member can book a room for you is 11 months out from check-in.  This is when availability is best.
  • Be flexible with your dates and/or room type: If you have a little wiggle room when it comes to your travel dates or even the room type, it can help improve your odds of finding a room at your preferred resort.  For example, Deluxe Studios tend to be in greater demand than the One Bedroom Villas, so switching to a One Bedroom Villa can sometimes help.  For Vero Beach and Hilton Head, avoiding the summertime can help you secure a reservation.
  • Check the confirmed reservations: These are reservations that have already been booked by a DVC Member and are waiting to be claimed by a Guest.  If you find a reservation that works for your schedule and party size, it’s a great way to guarantee that the room is available.

Book a DVC villa at the Beach Club, Grand Californian, Vero Beach, or Hilton Head for your next Disney vacation!  Browse the confirmed reservations, or request a free quote today.
